Allen Tate Realtors® Raise $12,000 for Public Education in the Triangle

10.13.14 FUNday TriangleAllen Tate Realtors® in the Triangle recently raised $12,000 to benefit public education, as part of the company’s 17th Annual FUNday event.

On FUNday, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests “pay to play” and raise money for local public education organizations. Since it began 17 years ago, FUNday has taken the form of a field day, tailgate picnic, community workday, and evening reception. This year, FUNday was held as four separate regional events through the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina. To date, FUNday has raised more than $1.38 million for public education across the Carolinas.

More than 170 people attended the Triangle event, a Mad Men-themed reception held October 9 at Carolina Country Club in Raleigh. The festivities included a silent auction, reverse raffle, wine pull, Black Jack tournament, reception and dancing to tunes from the Mad Men era.

“The first FUNnight event in the Triangle was a huge success as agents, staff, sponsors and guests enjoyed dressing in Mad Men-inspired attire reminiscent of the 60’s and 70’s,” said Susan “Bootsie” Harris, FUNday Triangle event chairperson. “We are thrilled to have hosted such a fun and memorable event with all proceeds benefiting public education in the Triangle.”

Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include the Poe Center for Health Education and the Wake Education Partnership.

FUNday is made possible through the support of national, regional and local sponsors. Event sponsors included Quantum Digital, Our State magazine, Realtor.com, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Office Depot, United Printing, Automated Shredding, SND Coffee, United Laser, TelWare Corporation, the News and Observer, Two Men and a Truck, Brentwood Carpets, Piedmont Service Group, Professional Home Staging, South Law Firm, Leith Land Rover Jaguar, Lennar Homes, Triangle Imports, Renovatia, Wendell Falls, KB Homes, Red Wolf Vodka and Doncaster-Ashley Vaughn.
