On FUNday, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests “pay to play” and raise money for local public education organizations. Since it began 17 years ago, FUNday has taken the form of a field day, tailgate picnic, community workday, and evening reception. This year, FUNday was held as four separate regional events through the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina. To date, FUNday has raised more than $1.38 million for public education across the Carolinas.
More than 225 people attended the Upstate event, an evening reception held September 24 at the Westin Poinsett in Greenville. The festivities included silent and live auctions, a wine pull, blackjack table, “Keys to Success” game, and “Diamond Drop” drawing for a black diamond necklace. Kathy Weeks, Allen Tate regional vice president for the Upstate, also participated in an ice bucket challenge prior to the event, which raised $2,100.
“I am inspired with the success of our first locally based Allen Tate fundraiser supporting the local public school districts,” said Rhett Brown, FUNday Upstate event chairperson. “It is impossible to express our gratitude for our company-wide teamwork and efforts for our local community.”
Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include Greenville County Schools, Pickens County Schools and Spartanburg County Schools District #6.
FUNday is made possible through the support of national, regional and local sponsors. “Doctorate” level sponsors ($1,000+ contribution) included Ryan Homes, J. Terry Laws Attorney, Quantum Digital, Julie’s Jewels and Gifts, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Allen Tate Mortgage, Allen Tate Insurance, the Greenville News Media Group, Realtor.com, United Printing and Office Depot. “Masters” level sponsors ($700 contribution) included Tony DiPasquale Law Firm, Closet Pro, Rite Rug, DR Horton and Crown Communities.
