Allen Tate Realtors® President Phyllis Brookshire was honored today by the Triangle Business Journal as one of its 2014 Women in Business award winners.
The award was presented to Brookshire at a luncheon program held at the Raleigh Marriott City Center. She was one of 25 Triangle-area women recognized as dynamic and outstanding leaders with established track records of significant accomplishments in business and/or community service. She joins the ranks of hundreds of accomplished women throughout the Triangle who have received the award during the past 18 years.
“Phyllis is a highly focused leader who helps others to understand their responsibilities and move forward. She has a unique gift of being able to genuinely engage each person in a crowded room,” said Pat Riley, Allen Tate Company president and chief operating officer.
Brookshire joined Allen Tate in 2007 as regional vice president for the company’s Triangle region. In 2010, she was named president of Allen Tate Realtors and currently oversees 37 real estate offices across the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina, including six Triangle offices: Glenwood, Falls of Neuse, Cary-Searstone, Cary-Stonebridge, Chapel Hill/Durham and Wake Forest/Rolesville.
Brookshire has served on the board of directors of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors®; and as a dean of the Triangle Realtors Leadership Academy. She is past chairman of the J.C. Raulston Arboretum at N.C. State University and has been actively involved with Triangle United Way, Poe Center for Health Education and the Wake Education Partnership. She currently serves on the board of advisors of the Visual Art Exchange.
