The Allen Tate Company has donated $25,000 to MeckEd to support the nonprofit’s mission of supporting strong public schools by educating, engaging and impacting the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.
“We are tremendously grateful for the generosity of everyone at Allen Tate Company,” said Bill Anderson, executive director of MeckEd. “For two decades, Allen Tate has demonstrated outstanding support for public education, and we are humbled by their investment in our program of work.”
The donation comes from Allen Tate FUNday, an annual event where agents “pay to play” and participate in activities such as tennis, cornhole and silent and live auctions.
“There is nothing more important to the quality of life of a community than the school house at the end of the street,” said Pat Riley, president and chief operating officer of Allen Tate Company. “The work MeckEd does to support and strengthen our public schools is critical to ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.”
MeckEd pursues policy decisions that yield strong public schools, informs the community about the critical issues facing public education and connects students to workplace learning opportunities through its Career Pathways program.
