If America is known as the land of opportunity, then North Carolina is one of the sweet spots.
Charlotte and Raleigh rank among the Top 10 U.S. metro areas that continue to attract those seeking jobs, quality of life and a desirable cost of living, according to a recent report by the Brookings Institution.
Charlotte saw a 0.9 percent net increase in annual population during 2010, 2011 and 2012, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. Raleigh saw a net gain of 0.7% annually during the same period. Charlotte added a net average of 15,598 new residents each year while Raleigh welcomed 7,785 newcomers.
According to the report, “Charlotte and Raleigh are luring businesses with lower costs than they’d bear in other big cities plus a more easy-going lifestyle than typical in the Northeast or on the West Coast.”
