CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 2, 2012) – Allen Tate Mortgage Services President Chris Cope has been named vice-president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas, Inc. (www.mbac.org).
The 57-year-old trade organization represents companies that participate in the mortgage lending industry within North and South Carolina. It serves members through legislative representation, education and training, networking, information resources, and also provides educational resources and support to consumers about mortgages.
Cope has 16 years of experience in the mortgage services industry and four years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined Allen Tate Mortgage as president in 2007 and currently leads a team of more than 50 people throughout the company’s footprint in the Charlotte, Triad, Research Triangle and Upstate South Carolina regions.
He also serves on the board of advisors for the UNC Nutrition Research Institute and MeckEd, and the Modern and Contemporary committee of the Mint Museum.
Cope and his wife, Kathy, reside in Charlotte. They have two sons.
